Dr. John Bethell

John graduated from medical school in Aberdeen, Scotland and moved to Australia as a junior doctor in 1991. After starting his first recruitment business in 1994 he joined Morgan & Banks, Sydney in 1996 eventually working as the manager of the healthcare division. At M&B John’s portfolio included medical and pharmaceutical, including executive search. John has been a Director of Wavelength since inception in 1999.

Claire has a BA(Hons) degree and a business diploma in management. She spent 6 years working in various HR and management roles within a regional health service and hospital in the United Kingdom before re-locating to Australia in 1996. In Sydney she obtained medical workforce-planning experience for the NSW Health Department prior to joining the healthcare recruitment team at Morgan and Banks (later Hudson). At M&B Claire's portfolio covered medical and healthcare management recruitment including some executive search work. She launched Wavelength with John in 1999 as a founding director.

Rebecca joined Wavelength in November 2008 to establish the Executive Division. Graduating with a Bachelor of Business her career commenced in marketing however since 2002 she has been a professional recruiter working for a number of industry-leading listed companies. Her experience includes assisting top-tier corporations with selective senior management assignments, including executive search in overseas markets.

Rebecca specialises in placing Medical Directors and Nursing Executives into substantive and locum placements with hospitals, aged care facilities and private practices across Australia and New Zealand.

Karla joined Wavelength International in May 2007. Prior to this, Karla earned 7 years Australian recruiting experience within the Commercial Accounting sector. Initially her role focused on attracting qualified accountants from overseas. She then worked closely with some major clients in an account management capacity recruiting within their finance teams.

Karla is the Division Manager for the successful Specialist Division within Wavelength focusing on clients and candidates within Australasia and overseas.

Emma joined Wavelength International in 2008 having relocated to Australia from the UK where she gained extensive HR and recruitment experience having worked in various industry sectors over the past 10 years.

Emma initially started out at Wavelength International as the Specialist Division Para Consultant, supporting the recruitment team. She was soon promoted and is now focused on a portfolio of clients and candidates including pathology, paediatrics as well as medical & surgical specialties.

Elissa joined Wavelength International in 2008 in the Junior/Middle Grade Doctor Division as a recruitment consultant for SHO's, Registrars and Career Medical Officer level doctors in Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining Wavelength, Elissa spent 3 years recruiting doctors of all levels for a hospital in New Zealand. During this time she gained valuable experience and knowledge of the internal runnings of a hospital and the challenges doctors and clients face.

Emma joined the Junior/Middle Grade Doctor Division at Wavelength International in July 2009 to focus on recruiting House Officers and Registrars into hospitals across Australia and New Zealand. Emma started her recruitment career in 2001 with a large global agency in the UK and took the opportunity to relocate to their Sydney office in 2004.

During the following 5 years Emma specialised in recruiting banking and finance professionals across the Sydney market before moving into an onsite account management role where she was responsible for managing the recruitment function for one of the agencies major clients.

Ruth is an experienced medical recruiter and has been a divisional manager with Wavelength since 2003. She successfully recruited junior doctors and registrars for 3 years before accepting the challenge of establishing and developing the GP division in August 2005. Since then Ruth has grown the GP division to require the services of 7 full-time staff members. The focus is on locum and fixed term placements of both, local and overseas doctors.

Ruth has a wealth of knowledge about the complexities of registration and provider number requirements to place overseas doctors. Ruth's portfolio is currently specialising in the recruitment of permanent GP's for Western Australia and New Zealand. Prior to Wavelength she managed the day surgery unit at St Vincent's Private Hospital in Sydney.

Sara Dawson

Sara joined the GP team in early 2008 to support the locum side of the business and has since moved into a role coordinating locum GP placements throughout NSW, WA, TAS and VIC. Sara has a BA in English Literature and Media Communications and worked in a busy role recruiting for large events in the UK before relocating to Australia in February 2005. Sara managed the placement of both temporary and permanent staff into a variety of industries in Sydney gaining a broad exposure to the Australian market before joining Wavelength in March 08.

Sarah Walton

Sarah joined Wavelength in December 2006 and prior to that had 3 years recruitment experience spanning across a range of industries. She now focuses on GP/SMO/MSRPP locum recruitment across hospitals, medical centers and Aboriginal Health organisations in the Northern Territory and Queensland. Sarah is studying Japanese at UNSW and is also an Accredited Member of the RCSA.

Antoinette Abou-Rizk

Antoinette Abou-Rizk has a B.Design (Visual Communications) and B.Arts (International Studies) from UTS. She joined Wavelength in May 2007 and now recruits permanent GP placements within Australia. Antoinette has worked & travelled extensively in central Australia and Asia and draws on these experiences to assist doctors relocating to Australia. She has strong administration skills and a wide employment background ranging from tertiary education institutions to corporate companies.

Claire joined the Wavelength GP team in August 2009 to focus on recruiting doctors in Area of Need positions throughout Australia. She understands the shortage of GP’s coming into Australia and is aware of how much of a difference they can make to a community.

Prior to joining Wavelength International, Claire gained 5 years recruitment experience in the UK within the health care and engineering sectors. In 2008 she immigrated to Australia after traveling Australia, New Zealand and Europe for 12 months.

Rebecca graduated from The University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) in 1999. With a desire to work in the health sector, she took a role at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney in the Human Resources Department. Her most recent role at SVH was as a Human Resources / Industrial Relations Officer. Rebecca commenced with Wavelength in July 2005.

Kelly has a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Sydney. Her nursing career has spanned a period of 10 years and she has worked in a variety of large teaching hospitals in both Sydney and the UK. Kelly was last working at St Vincent Private Hospital as a theatre nurse before pursuing a role in international candidate management and recruitment with Michael Page in 2003. In 2005 Kelly amalgamated her recruitment and nursing experience and joined Wavelength, where she is currently the Division Manager of the locum team.

Claudine has a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from Macquarie University as well as a Diploma in Human Resources. Claudine joined Wavelength in 2005, starting in the Junior team, recruiting overseas doctors for permanent positions in Australia and New Zealand. In 2006, she joined the locum team, first looking after the junior doctors, then adding Anaesthetists to her list of charges. Claudine has 6 years recruiting experience behind her.

Lisa graduated from the University of Sussex, UK, with a Bachelors Degree (first-class honours) in Psychology and Management Studies. Shortly after, she travelled to Australia, via the USA and Pacific Islands, to work as a team co-ordinator at a multi-national listed recruitment firm in Sydney. She joined Wavelength in 2007 and is now a recruitment consultant focused on placing junior doctors in short-term and shift by shift locums throughout Australia & New Zealand.

She has remained in Australia working initially in the equine recruitment sector before joining Wavelength in early 2008. Carole is now a recruitment consultant with the junior doctor team focusing on locum placements throughout Australia and New Zealand.

With 2 years experience working within the migration industry, Ariel joined Wavelength International in 2007. She is currently the Division Manager of the Migration Services team and is responsible for the case management of a diverse range of professional registration and visa applications. These include temporary and permanent residence visas specialising in the healthcare sector. Ariel holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Cum Laude) from the United States as well as a Graduated Certificate in Migration Law (HD) and a Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment from Australia.

Samantha has come from a contract tendering and compliance background. She was involved in vendor management and tender evaluation at Woolworths - one of the largest retail companies in Australia and New Zealand. Samantha has also completed further education in Hospitality and Human Resource Management. She has been with Wavelength since 2006 and completed her Graduate Certificate in Migration Law in 2009 and is now a Registered Migration Agent for Australia. Samantha supports the GP team with their regulatory and migration requirements.

Elinor has a Masters in Biology from the University of Bath and, prior to joining Wavelength, worked for Nature Publishing Group producing top-quality scientific journals. Originally from the UK, Elinor has also spent a year working in New Zealand before experiencing the migration process first hand and becoming a permanent resident in Australia. With a keen eye for detail, she works with the Regulatory team to ensure a smooth transition for our overseas doctors.

She has worked in both the public and private sectors in both Australia and the UK. Catherine has been with Wavelength since 2007 and is working with the RMO/Registrar division in a regulatory capacity.
